i wish you’d get out from under my skin and step into it instead,
inside you’d feel the weight of all the words I’ve left unsaid,
inside you’d hear the silent cries that didn’t make it out in tears,
inside you’d taste untapped potential that’s been lingering for years,
you’d smell no scent of confidence,
and you’d see through all the happy lies,
so step into this skin of mine,
and try the pain on from the inside.
